BIO
Paolo Conte, born in Asti, is an Italian singer, songwriter, composer, pianist and conductor. Passionate about jazz and painting, he began his career in the 1960s writing hits for other artists, including the famous Azzurro for Adriano Celentano.
In the 1970s, he embarked on a solo career marked by his husky, nonchalant voice, an elegant style blending Italian song, jazz and blues, and songs that have become cult classics, such as Via Con Me and Un gelato al limon. A complete artist, he made his mark on the international scene with his refined and poetic albums (Aguaplano, Novecento, Paris Milonga).
Considered a master of Italian musical refinement, he has received numerous awards in Italy and France. His work, imbued with melancholy and irony, combines music, poetry and visual arts.
His latest album, Snob (2014), continues in this elegant vein with fifteen new songs inspired by jazz and Latin rhythms, confirming Paolo Conte as one of the most unique and timeless artists in European music.
