PRESENTATION
Regarded as Portugal’s most internationally renowned artist, Mariza has risen in just a few years from a local sensation to global stardom. Recognised by the international press as one of the greatest voices of all time, she has amassed awards from countries across the globe. Constantly on the move, Mariza regularly performs at major venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
No other Portuguese artist since Amália Rodrigues has managed to build an international career with such success, performing on prestigious stages and garnering positive reviews from demanding music critics. As always, her musical partners continue to be the very best: Jacques Morelenbaum, John Mauceri, José Merced, Miguel Poveda, Gilberto Gil, Ivan Lins, Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Cesária Évora, Tito Paris, Rui Veloso and Carlos do Carmo.
Although her repertoire remains closely linked to classical and contemporary fado, it has nevertheless expanded to include Cape Verdean mornas, rhythm and blues classics, and any other tunes the artist enjoys.
Mariza has long since moved beyond the stage where she was merely a fleeting exotic presence on the world music scene, easily replaceable by some new phenomenon emerging from another corner of the global music industry.

She returns in 2027 for an exceptional tour, both to present Amor, her upcoming album, and to celebrate an extraordinary career that has brought Portuguese culture to the world’s greatest international stages.
In this new project, Mariza surrounds herself with a wide array of composers, producers and musicians, blending generations and sensibilities, to create a resolutely contemporary album, without ever losing her unique identity. Amor explores, with intensity and elegance, the many facets of the emotion that gives it its name: LOVE in all its fullness, but also its fragilities and contradictions. Each song reveals a new emotional nuance, confirming the artistic depth of a remarkable career.
