BIOGRAPHY
Once again, Lura gets to grips with funaná, which started out as a poor, black, backyard genre in colonial times before becoming the iconic cultural style of the island of Santiago.
She wrote the music and lyrics for her new track Alguem di Alguem, which follows on from M’bem di Fora, Fitiço di Funaná and Sabi di Más, the star tracks in a repertoire she proudly performs on stage all over the world.
The EP also includes a cover of the Teofilo Chantre song Crepuscular Solidão, which Lura and Gaël Faye sang for the first time in public for the tribute to Cesaria Evora at the last Sakifo Festival on Reunion Island.
